Auto Dealership in Texas was Disseminated by Tornados
The Interstate 20 Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram auto dealership in
Canton was flattened during the storms over the weekend. Many autos on the
interstate were allegedly toppled. Proprietor Randall Noe told NBC DFW-Channel
5 that the dealership was emptied by the general manager just five minutes
before the tornado landed. “The crew here, the general manager, asked everybody
to leave and go home because sky turned green, he said, they could start
hearing the howling noise,” he said. “They did get out.”
At least four tornadoes landed in the surrounding counties,
two of which exceeded winds of 140 mph, earning a “severe” tornado intensity
rating, the National Weather Service said in a statement. Several
National Weather Service survey teams were deployed Monday to further assess
the damage. Robert Wardell, car parts and service director at All-Star
Ford-Canton, said his dealership sustained no damages while the Interstate 20
business -- just up the same street -- was, “wiped out completely.”
Search and rescue for people missing from the tornado will
continue, as indicated by City Secretary Debra Johnson, and a station for
volunteers has been built up at a neighborhood fairground. “We’re just trying
to make whatever recovery efforts we can, as soon as we can,” Johnson said.
Texas is known for its tornadoes but the people of Texas are
also resilient and show great empathy for their fellow Texans. Since the storms
swept through the area over the weekend, many volunteers have since gathered to
help the people who suffered so much loss during these terrible storms. It’s
all about people helping people and that’s exactly the same motto that Texas
based auto transport company, Thrifty Auto Shipping tries to carry out on
a daily basis. Our hearts go out to anyone affected by this weekend’s storms in
Texas and throughout the Midwest.
